Most of them call me Niggi. You have been surfing all over the world since 1996/97. Do you have a favorite surfspot? Yeah, the Beach-box, Sylt. Good, and to surf at Beach-box, which board-shape do you prefer? Right now i surf with a JS 5`8 Fish. Niggi, who or what inspires you? My friends ispire me, but above all I get inspired when I'm on the road. If you had to pick two surfers, dead or alive, to go surf with. Who would they be and where would you go? I'd choose Cory Lopez and Dane Reynolds, they are very special surfers to me. I like the way they're surfing and their style. Sorry, but actually I don't know where to go surfing with them, maybe to Indonesia. Interesting choice, I'm sure you'd have some amazing sessions! And for the future? Do you have any plans for the next six months? Well, from January to March I will be traveling. At first I'm going to fly to California and thereafter to Costa Rica. Then, when I'll be back again I've got to do some work. During the surfing season on the island Sylt I work as a lifeguard, otherwise I work as a carpenter. A journey to the USA and Central Amerika to go surfing must be a great adventure. I'm sure you'll find some cool people and nice places. In this context it would be nice to experience if there is "the best city on earth" for you? I actually don't like big towns. Where I grew up, on Sylt, there were no big cities, maybe thats the reason why. But as a sole exception I could mention Perth and Fremantle in Western Australia. These are two really beautiful towns, but unfortunately there ain't no swell. Fine, and at last, do you have your own way of life? In fact I don't have a particular way of life. But I like those, "enjoy your day" or "forever not yours".
