SOUTH AFRICA!
It is starting to get cold in good old Europe. The Alps have received the first snowfalls and snowboard movie premiers and openings have been going down left right and centre. But we will hang on to summer for just a little longer. All we need to do is head down to the most Southern tip of Africa where SWOX now officially has a distribution set up. Alfred Kröger from Stellenbosch, info@swox.co.za, will be handling all of SWOX' distribution in beautiful and sunny South Africa.
SWOX South Africa has already supported a couple of local events including Surf For Life 2012, which took place in Strand, just a stone throw away from Cape Town. Stay tuned for more events and if you want SWOX in your shop in SA or head over there for holidays in winter, just contact Alfred and his team to know where you can purchase SWOX in the Cape Town area.
TEAM RIDERS
Maybe you will also run into our new SWOX team rider Shaun Joubert down there. Shaun is one of South Africa's great hopes on the World Qualification Series and will help Alfred getting the SWOX name out there not only in South Africa but all over the world.Now if you think that Shaun is the only new addition to the team you are mistaken. SWOX also welcomes Susi Mai, Pedro Henrique and Cilka Sadar to its team.
If you kiteboard, you know Susi Mai. Susi is originally from Germany, but has been living in the Dominican Republic pretty much all her life. One of her biggest achievements was winning the King Of The Air in Maui. Susi is living a dream and we couldn't be happier to have her on board.
Pedro Henrique from Brazil is also a kite surfer. More then that he's also one of the best surfers out there competing on the WQS, the World Qualification Series. Pedro is currently living in Portugal and is traveling and filming wherever there are waves and good wind. Check his latest video here and see how he combines the best out of the two disciplines.
Last but not least, let us introduce Cilka Sadar from Slovenia, the 2012 TTR Snowboard World Champ. Cilka is one of the great hopes for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Soochi and will blow you away once you see her perform in the pipe. Get some taste in this video here.
CHAMPIONS
And while we are at it, we have some more great team news as we have three champions to congratulate! Tao Schirrmacher from Munich, our river surf legend is the 2012 European Champ in stationary wave surfing. The event took place once again at Munich airport and was a great success. Cannelle Bulard, one of the first surfers SWOX signed, clinched her first ever ASP European junior title while Marlon Lipke won the 2012 ASP European title, becoming the first ever German to do so.
Congrats to all of you guys! We are super happy for you!

BILLABONG SURF CAMP
First off all we are once again partners of the Billabong Surf Camp, which will take place on the German island of Sylt on July 21st and 22nd. Billabong invites 30 kids from the age of 8 to 14 for an unforgettable weekend and we from SWOX make sure that everyone is protected while the kids take their first steps in the surf. This camp is free of charge, the only thing that needs paying for is the trip to Sylt and back home. More info here: Link
This event takes place in conjunction with the surf club Sylt who will make sure that the kids have the best possible teachers.
SNOWBOARDER MBM SURF DAYS
And there's more surfing. SWOX was partner at Snowboarder MBM's yearly surf trip. Some of the world's best snowboarders, including TTR Champs Seppe Smith and Cilka Sadar and Ero Ettala and Aimee Fuller followed the mag's invite to the South of Portugal to forget about the snow for a while, relax in the sun and surf their brains out. Introducing Irish-German Melodie Bohny from Fuerteventura! Melodie is 17 years of age and lives by the motto "the best surfer out there is the one having most the fun". And that fits our philosophy at SWOX perfectly. Melody has a full contest schedule ahead of her with events in Spain, the European Junior Championships and the German Champs. Welcome to the team Melody!
The second addition to the SWOX team is Gareth Budge. Gareth is 28 years old and was born in Coffs Harbour, Australia, now residing in Bali. Passionate about "Nutella in the morning, a glass of red in the evening" and inspired by Andy Warhol's novel "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol from A to B & Back Again", Gareth tries to surf at least once a day and wants to explore the realms of big wave surfing over the next few years. Explanation
Mirjam Jaeger and Konstantin Schad are constantly on the road. Whether for contests, photo shoots or video productions. They are exposed to many extremes: long trips, long days of training or extreme weather conditions. Therefore they have to be very well prepared and do the extra step.

Let us share a brief glimpse behind the scenes! How did it all start with SWOX Surf Protectionª? Whose brain did it evolve from and what is it all about?
Three years ago in September, Maximilian Jagsch decided to follow his dreams and live his passion. He quit his safe and secure job in Munich and set sails to Australia. The first week in Sydney, he gets to know Tim Peltz, a German doctor practicing in Sydney. Their common passion: surfing. Tim introduces Max to the Australian East Coast and inspires with his view and way of life. Surfing is a treat for the soul, but a nightmare to skin and eyes. Max soon realizes quickly that in those extreme conditions standard commercial sun creams would never fulfil his expectations. The idea of SWOX Surf Protection, a sun protection without compromises, was born. With Tim as a passionate surfer and doctor aware of the risks of intense solar radiation, Max had his first team member.
SWOX, short for Snow Water Oxygen should satisfy the needs of surfers and every extreme sport athlete in extreme conditions, with no compromise, with no short cut. The difference to conventional sunscreen products is immense. The principle is based on protection from the inside and outside: a waterproof cream, which does not run into the eyes, enriched with zinc and titanium and capsules, a dietary supplement. After Max launched the company in Germany and Australia with Tim responsible for research and development, more members of the creative boardsport scene joined to support the initiative. The idea of protecting surfers and athletes in the mountains, people in extreme conditions, and to meet their requirements has always been the priority. Max is now back in Munich and faces the daily challenges of running a compay. But SWOX is his passion, his journey and his dream come true. .

Mirjam Jaeger joins the SWOX Surf Protection SNOW TEAM
Mirjam means fun, she lives her life intensively, is ambitious and delivers a positive and brilliant spirit. The 28-year-old Swiss started skiing at the age of two and after a detour in snowboarding, where she took part in some regional contests, she finally found her passion in freeskiing. When riding she does not care about the conditions, riding puts a smile on her face in any case. SWOX Surf Protectionª is looking forward to make sure this congenial Swiss girl doesnÕt have to care about sunburn anymore.

BILLABONG Kids Camp 2011 - supported by SWOX
As in the previous year SWOX Surf Protection» again supported the BILLABONG Kids Camp on Sylt, Germany. Sun protection is a topic kids and young people can't be educated about early enough.
30 kids had the chance to do their first steps in surfing, all with professional guidance from the Surf Club Sylt, as well as SWOX Surf Protection» team rider Tim Schubert. Unfortunately there wasn't much reason to cream up at the beginning. Storm and rain on Saturday made a first dip in the water almost impossible. The motivated kids in their wetsuits though did not want to chicken out and dove into the cold blue. Even though Huey had no mercy there was no boredom to be seen. Slack lining and theoretical surf practice indoor as well as football added on flavour.
Sunday was better and after creaming and warming-up the kids hit the water. We could see many talents and certainly joy and moments, the kids won't forget for a while.

Cannelle Bulard and Caleb Reid sign with SWOX Surf Protection. SWOX is extremely proud to announce the new team acquisitions. New to the team are Cannelle Bulard (FRA) and Caleb Reid (AUS). They join the team around Marlon Lipke, Elodie Boursaus, Nicolai Brueggen and Tim Schubert. 17-year old Cannelle comes off a win at the "Women Under 18 ISA World Junior Surfing Champion". Silje Norendal - Snow
Silje grew up in Kongsberg Norway, is 17 and started snowboarding when she was four years old. At the age of thirteen and as a Roxy teamrider she already made the 1st place at the Burton European Open 2007. Since then she successfully participates serveral snowboard contests every year. Silje just made the 2nd place in women`s slopestyle at X-Games in March 2011. With 713.86 points Silje made the 8th place under the world top 10 of women`s snowboarder at the worldwide TTR Tour. Silje is the up-and-coming talent.

Ethan Morgan - Snow
Ethan Morgan was born in Japan and grew up in Virginia (USA) and Mittenwald (Germany). He is 19 years old and one of the most promising snowboard talents in Europe. Naturally familiar with the snow in all disciplines, he was quickly sponsored by Nike 0.6, Rome and others. Ethan will be participating the TTR Tour in the oncomings winter seasons. Additionally he will be on screen for the Insenseven Filmproduction.

Marlon Lipke - Surf
Marlon was born in Portugal and is 26 years old. At the age of eight he was already fascinated to be in the water. The ocean became his friend and not long after Marlon started to take an active part in surf contests. Today he is the most successful German Surfer who is participating the World Championship Tour by also working on the project „Weekend Warrior“.
